Controversial at best. For example, wouldn't strict population control "tend to preserve the intgegrity, stabilty, and beauty of the biotic community"? Assuredly it would. Yet imagine if we obtained perfect knowledge of the biotic community? At what if we broadened this understanding to social systems, governments, and politics? If all is viewed by a biological lens then Leopold's stragety for his Land Ethic can hold true.

This is what I strive for.

I strive for a perfect understanding of the earth's biotic community. Clearly I can not obtain this on my own. In fact I will never have the the perfect knowledge. What I will do however, is to obtain the tiniest fraction the knowledge and trustothers who have mastered their fraction. Together, the knowledge is assembled and the "right" things can be done.
